I-PEX CABLINE®-SS Family of Connectors
Medical products demand high performance interconnects
Medical devices play an important role in the delivery of many health care services and are used in the prevention, cure, and treatment of disease. The medical device industry plays an essential role by developing new medical technologies that can improve the ability to diagnose and treat illness. Today’s medical electronics require higher rates of data, wireless connectivity, and interactive displays. I-PEX addresses these needs with interconnects that are faster, smaller, and more reliable than previously available.
The number of data points in medical devices increase and the level of data transmission needed to provide the most accurate data to the medical provider or home consumer user increases. So, there is a growing need for higher density, smaller form-factor, electronic components with the ability to provide the highest level of EMI protection available. I-PEXs family of micro-coaxial interconnects provide all of these features and have successfully been adopted by many equipment providers in the medical device market.
Micro-coaxial cable connectors delivery power and signal in a very small space
I-PEX supplies a range of micro-miniature, precision interconnection systems which provide power and/or signal distribution in a very small space.
The CABLINE® family of connectors by I-PEX supports both discrete wire in sizes of AWG 32 or smaller and coaxial cables which have an outer cable diameter of approximately 1 mm or less and wire sizes of AWG 36 or smaller. These products are ideal for delivering power and signal in a .5mm or .4mm receptacle and cable assembly, providing an extremely dense interconnect solution for your product design, saving critical PCB space and costs. Each CABLINE® interconnect allows for both single AWG type wire solutions or hybrid (data and power) solutions, in both horizontal and vertical mating profiles.
The CABLINE®-SS by I-PEX is a robust, right angle, vertical mate connector with power delivery in a 0.4 mm pitch solution. The narrow depth design enables the CABLINE®-SS assembly to go through small diameter areas, facilitating ease of assembly processes in product designs with tights spaces. This connector also has autoclave-compatible options available to meet medical sterilization requirements.

The CABLINE® connectors are suitable for use with a variety of low speed and high-speed communications protocols, including:
- MIPI
- HDMI 1.3
- USB 4 operating at up to 20 Gbits/s per lane
- PCIe Gen 4 supporting rates of 16 GT/s
- eDP HBR 3 at 8.1 Gbits/s
