More Information on Memory...

What is a Memory Chip?

A semiconductor memory chip is an electronic device for data storage which is implemented on a semiconductor integrated circuit. Data is accessed by the semiconductor chip through a binary memory address. If the address of the memory consists of M number of bits, then the address area consists of 2^M addresses per chip. Semiconductor memory chips are designed with a certain word length (which is the number of 1-bit cells that share the same memory address). The amount of data which can be stored in a memory chip defines the number of bits. Through the combination of several integrated circuits, memory may be arranged for a larger word length and/or a larger address space than what is initially offered by the chip.

Types of Memory Devices

There are several different kinds of Memory devices suitable for programming at Future Electronics. We stock many of the most common types categorized by several parameters including Nominal Supply Voltage, Temperature Range, Memory Organization, Maximum Access Time, Memory Density, Interface Type, Operating Mode and packaging type, among others. Our parametric filters will allow you to refine your search results according to the required specifications.

Memory Devices from Future Electronics

Future Electronics has a wide range of programmable memory devices from several manufacturers. Once you decide if you need Battery Backed SRAM, Combo Flash Memory, DRAM, Dual Port Memory, EEPROM, EPROM, FIFO's, Flash Memory, FRAM, MRAM, Non Volatile SRAM, PSD Memory, Static RAM or Volatile Memory, you will be able to choose from their technical attributes and your search results will be narrowed to match your specific memory device application needs.

We deal with several manufacturers such as Alliance Memory Inc, Cypress, Everspin Technologies, Greenliant, Macronix, Microchip, ON Semiconductor, Renesas Electronics, Simtek and STMicroelectronics, among others. You can easily refine your memory product search results by clicking your preferred memory brand from the list of manufacturers below.

Applications for Memory Devices:

All types of electronic devices can use semiconductor memory chips. They can be found in as many fields as: PCs, digital cameras, notebooks, smart cards, aerospace and military system, cellular telephones and smart phones, digital music devices and media players, digital cameras, cellular base stations, black box solutions, book readers, PDAs, power meters, security systems and removable storage devices among other uses. Flash technology can be found in computer BIOS, PCMCIA cards, video game cartridges and modems. Bridges, routers and switches use FIFO memory in communications and networking to hold data packets that are in route to a given destination.

Choosing the Right Memory Device:

With the FutureElectronics.com parametric search, when looking for the right Memory devices, you can filter the results by category. We carry the following categories of Memory devices:

  • Battery Backed SRAM
  • Combo Flash
  • DRAM
  • Dual Ports
  • EEPROM
  • EPROM
  • FIFO's
  • Flash
  • FRAM
  • MRAM
  • Non Volatile SRAM
  • PSD (Programming System Devices)
  • Static RAM
  • Volatile Memory

Once you choose the memory category, you can narrow them down by various attributes: by nominal supply voltage, memory organization, maximum access time, memory density and temperature grade, to name a few. You will be able to find the right Combo Flash Memory, DRAM, Battery Backed SRAM, Dual Port Memory, EPROM, FIFO's, Flash Memory, EEPROM, Non Volatile SRAM, PSD Memory,FRAM, MRAM, Volatile Memory or Static RAM using these filters.

Memory Devices in Production Ready Packaging or R&D Quantities

If the quantity of Memory devices you require is less than a full reel, we offer to our customers several of our programmable Memory devices in tray, tube or individual quantities that will help you avoid unneeded surplus.

Future Electronics also offers its clients a unique bonded inventory program designed to eliminate potential problems that may arise from an unpredictable supply of products that could contain raw metals and products with erratic or long lead times.
