More Information on Fans...

Mechanical Fans

Future Electronics offers a wide range of Fans, both axial (propeller) and radial (blower/centrifugal) fans from such suppliers as Aavid, ADDA, CUI, Delta, Etri, Nidec, Nuventix, Orion and Sunon. We also offer Fans in both AC and DC voltages.

Future Electronics offers a varied selection of AC Fans, in both axial (propeller) or radial (blowers/ centrifugal) configurations for your applications. The main benefit of the AC Fan is that AC fans provide a constant flow particularly where the need for ventilation is important.

Typical AC cooling fan voltages can be 115 Vac or 220 Vac. DC fans on the other hand provide a variable, uneven flow. They also tend to consume less power, have quieter operation and cause less electromgnetic and radio interference. In the past (but no longer the case), AC fans were significantly cheaper than DC fans, making them the popular economical choice.

and DC voltages.

DC Fan, DC Brushless Fan, DC Axial Fan, DC Radial Fan

Like AC fans, Future Electronics offers a wide-selection of DC powered brushless fans. They are available in both axial (propeller) or radial (blowers/centrifugal) format to meet whatever your applications requires.

The most popular type of DC fan, is the brushless type. DC-powered brushless fans typically use low voltage. The most common voltage for Brushless DC-powered fans are 5V,12 V, 24 V or 48V. If the system has regulated power supply in one of these, then a brushless DC fan may be selected which will give the exact performance required. Another major benefit of the brushless DC motor is that it produces less electromagnetic interference. This makes them perfect in cooling computer systems as it can do so without disturbing processes with electromagnetic interference. Another prime advantage a DC fans have over AC fans is a longer life span, making them a perfect choice, for small devices where it will be hard to service/change out.

Choosing the Right Fan:

When you are looking for the right fans, with FutureElectronics.com parametric search, no matter the application, you can filter the results by various attributes: By type (axial square, blower, cross flow, fanless), by bearing type: (ball, dual ball, Maglev), by air flow (23.5 CFM,40 CFM, 50 CFM, 110 CFM), by noise (28 dBA, 30 dBA, 32 dBA), by voltage rating (5 V, 12 V, 24 V, 115 V) and by dimension (120 x 120 x 38mm, 40 x 40 x 20 mm, 80 x 80 x 25 mm) to name a few.

Fan Accessories:

If you buy a fan from Future Electronics, don’t forget we also offer Fan accessories such as Metal or Plastic Fan Guards, Filters, Plugs , Cords and Clips.

Applications for Fans:

Typical applications include automotive, appliances, telecom equipment, laptops, servers, and many other portable and non-portable electronic devices. Sometimes you could find fans used in conjunction with a heatsink to increase overall airflow. This is known as a forced air system. These 2 solutions can also be combined which is known as a fansink.
