Crimp Terminals

What is a Crimp Terminal?

A crimp terminal is a solder-less electrical connection and is used to terminate stranded wire by inserting the stripped end of the wire into part of the terminal. This terminal is then compressed around the wire, therefore rendering it gas-tight. Barrel-type crimp connections have an oval shape, whereas in open-barrel crimp connections, the section to be crimped has a V or U shape.

Types of Crimp Terminals

There are several different kinds of crimp terminals. At Future Electronics we stock many of the most common types categorized by Style, Wire Gauge, Size, Type and Packaging Type. The parametric filters on our website can help refine your search results depending on the required specifications.

The most common sizes for Wire Gauge are AWG 16-14, AWG 22-16 and AWG 22-18. We also carry crimp terminals with Wire Gauge up to AWG 26-22. There are several types available including Receptacle, Ring and Spade types, among others.
