Diodes Incorporated AP66200/Q & AP66300/Q Buck Converters
Providing high efficiency DC-DC conversion for industrial and automotive applications.
The AP66200/Q and AP66300/Q synchronous buck converter designs are optimized for reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI). The devices simplify board layout and reduce space requirements with their high level of integration and minimal need for external components, making them ideal for distributed power architectures in a large selection of industrial and automotive point-of-load (PoL) applications.
AP66200 & AP66300
The AP66200 and AP66300 are 2A/3A, synchronous buck converters with a wide input voltage range of 3.8V to 60V. The converter fully integrates a 185mΩ high-side power MOSFET and an 80mΩ low-side power MOSFET to provide highly efficient step-down DC-DC conversion. This efficiency is further enhanced using the bias feature, which converts power as high as 95% and makes the AP66200 and AP66300 well suited for point-of-load (PoL) applications.
Both devices have an adjustable switching frequency, up to 2.5MHz, that can also be synchronized to an external clock. Their synchronization pin is multifunctional and allows the control to operate in PFM for high light-load efficiency or PWM for low output ripple. Other features include adjustable soft-start to reduce inrush current, and tracking for power sequencing.
The buck converters will also minimize external component count by adopting peak current mode control, along with integrated loop compensation network.
They are available in the U-QFN4040- 16/SWP (Type UXB) package.

AP66200Q & AP66300Q (Automotive)
These Diodes Incorporated synchronous buck converters, optimized for automotive applications, have adjustable switching frequencies (up to 2.5MHz), which can be synchronized to an external clock. Their multifunction synchronization pins set the devices to operate in pulse frequency modulation (PFM) (high light-load efficiency) or pulse width modulation (PWM) for low-output ripple. Both devices offer adjustable soft-start to reduce inrush current and tracking for power sequencing.
The automotive-compliant AP66200Q and AP66300Q are 2A and 3A synchronous buck converters, each with a wide input voltage range of 3.8V to 60V. Their wide operating voltage range and small footprint are make them suitable for a large selection of automotive point-of-load (PoL) applications.
These integrated power MOSFET switches (120mΩ high-side and 55mΩ low-side for AP66300Q, 185mΩ high-side and 80mΩ low-side for AP66200Q) provide high-efficiency step-down conversion. Their BIAS feature further enhances device efficiency, helping reduce internal power consumption.
Both parts minimize external component count by adopting peak current mode control coupled with integrated loop compensation network, making them easier to use. Their output stages are optimized for electromagnetic interference (EMI) reduction.
Their high level of integration simplifies board layout and reduces space requirements with minimal need for external components, making it ideal for distributed power architectures.
The AP66200Q/300Q are available in the wettable flank U-QFN4040-16/SWP (Type UXB) package supporting automatic optical inspection (AOI).
