More Information on Mixers...
What is a Mixer?
A mixer or frequency mixer is an electrical circuit which creates new frequencies from two signals that are applied to it. Mixers are critical components in modern radio frequency (RF) systems and are commonly used in order to shift signals from one frequency range to another for convenience in transmission, for further signal processing or for cost-effectiveness. Frequency mixers can also be used in order to modulate a carrier frequency in radio transmitters. One of the main reasons for frequency conversion is to allow amplification of the received signal at a frequency other than the radio frequency or audio frequency. Active mixers can increase the strength of the product signal. Active mixers improve isolation between the ports, but may have more power consumption and higher noise; an active mixer can be less tolerant of overload. Passive mixers can use one diode or more and rely on the non-linear relation between current and voltage in order to provide the multiplying element. In a passive mixer, the desired output signal is of lower power than the input signals.
Types of Mixers
There are many different kinds of radio frequency (RF) mixers and at Future Electronics we stock many of the most common types categorized by operating frequency, packaging type and conversion gain. The parametric filters on our website can help refine your search results depending on the required specifications.
The most common sizes for conversion gain are -8 dB, 13 dB and 17 dB. Operating frequency can range from 25 MHz to 500 GHz, with the most common size being 500 MHz.
Mixers from Future Electronics
Future Electronics has a full selection of programmable mixers from several manufacturers that can be used for programming mixer devices such as a wireless mixer, rf mixer circuit, audio mixers, digital mixer, usb mixer, radio frequency mixer, frequency mixer ic circuits or high frequency mixer. Simply choose from the mixer technical attributes below and your search results will quickly be narrowed to match your specific mixer application needs.
If you have a preferred brand, we deal with several manufacturers such as California Eastern Lab, Hittite Microwave, Avago Technologies, Calogic, New Japan Radio or NXP. You can easily refine your mixer product search results by clicking your preferred mixer brand below from our list of manufacturers.
Applications for Mixers:
Mixer circuits can be used to shift the frequency of an input signal like as in a receiver. They can also be used as a product detector, modulator, frequency multiplier or phase detector. For example, a communications receiver can contain two mixer stages to convert the input signal to an intermediate frequency as well as another mixer used as a detector to demodulate the signal.
Choosing the Right Mixer:
When you are looking for the right mixers, with the FutureElectronics.com parametric search, you can filter the results by various attributes: by Conversion Gain (-8 dB, 11 dB, 13 dB, 17 dB,…) and Operating Frequency (25 MHz, 150 MHz, 500 MHz, …) to name a few. You will be able to find the right programmable mixers to use for programming mixer devices including a wireless mixer, rf mixer circuit, radio frequency mixer, frequency mixer ic circuits, high frequency mixer, audio mixers, digital mixer or usb mixer.
Mixers in Production Ready Packaging or R&D Quantities
If the quantity of mixers required is less than a full reel, we offer customers many of our programmable mixer products in tube, tray or individual quantities that will avoid unneeded surplus.
In addition, Future Electronics offers clients a unique bonded inventory program that is designed to eliminate potential problems that may arise from an unpredictable supply of products containing raw metals and products with erratic or long lead times.
