STMicroelectronics STM32WL Series of Long Range SubGHz Multi-Protocol Microcontrollers (MCUs)
Perfect for low power, long range IoT applications with SubGHz protocols such as Lora, Sigfox and proprietary
The STMicroelectronics STM32WL Series of Microcontrollers (MCUs) is the only fully-integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) featured to connect Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWANs) devices using either LoRa or other SubGHz modulations.
STM32WL MCUs enable users to create Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices that are extremely compact, energy efficient, cost effective and reliable. The STM32WL series is the STM32 family’s pioneer in sub-GHz wireless connectivity, offering ease-of-use and reliability, while being perfectly tailored for a wide range of industrial and consumer applications.
The STM32WL series provides similar digital and analog peripherals for basic or complex application use cases requiring an extended battery life and a long RF range through its sub-GHz transceiver.
The STM32WL System-On-Chip integrates both a general purpose microcontroller and a sub-GHz radio on the same chip, which complements the STM32 RF connectivity portfolio. The series of MCUs is built on Arm® Cortex®‐M4 and Cortex®-M0+ cores (single- and dual-core architectures available), and supports multiple modulations– LoRa®, (G)FSK, (G)MSK, BPSK – to ensure flexibility in wireless applications with LoRaWAN®, Sigfox, W-MBUS or any other suitable protocol in a fully open way.
Security
STM32WL is also highly differentiated with its security features, end-to-end ecosystem, a very large product offering (Flash size and packages) and its 10 years rolling manufacturing commitment unique on the market.
