CUI’s Power Group has introduced a new series of six open frame ac-dc power supply ranging from 180W to 550W.
The VOF-275, VOF-300, VOF-350, and VOF-550 series are rated at 275 W, 300W, 350 W, and 550 W respectively. They are housed in compact 3 x 5 inch packages with profiles as low as 0.75 inches and power densities up to 24.4 W/in3.
The 180W VOF-180 Series and 225W VOF-225A Series are offered in more compact 2 x 4 inch packages with power densities as high as 30 W/in3.
As applications across a range of industries add more sensing capabilities and processing power, the need for high density and high efficiency power supplies becomes greater. With high efficiency up to 94% and no-load power draw as low as 0.5 W, these open frame ac-dc power supplies are ideally suited for IT equipment, industrial, and telecom applications where space and energy consumption are key.
The VOF series offers output voltage options from 12 to 58 Vdc and feature wide universal input voltage ranges up to 80 to 264 Vac. Certified to the UL and EN 60950-1 safety standards, the power supplies also meet EN 55032 B requirements for conducted and radiated emissions. All models also provide power factor correction, a 12 Vdc/500 mA fan output, and protections for over voltage, over current, and short circuit.
The operating temperatures at full load range from -40 and up to +50°C with forced air-cooling. When de-rated to 50% load, the operating temperature of the VOF series is rated at +70°C. These high-density ac-dc power supplies also deliver an MTBF of 3.37 million hours, calculated per Telcordia SR-332 Issue 3.
