The TL1105 Series of 6mm x 6mm tactile switches are a perfect example of these efficiencies.  This low cost single pole single throw (SPST) through hole tactile is available with multiple actuator options.  Terminals are silver plated brass with the option of gold or silver contacts.  Typical travel is 0.25mm (+/- 0.1mm) with 3 standard  actuation forces available (1N, 1.6N, 2.5N).
