Microchip MIC24066/7 Synchronous Switching Regulators

36 V, 6 A High Performance Switching Buck Regulator with Mode Select

The Microchip MIC24066/7 series of 36 V synchronous switching regulators deliver 6A of load current and feature a wide input range (4.5 V-36 V) integrated FET switching regulator which supports 6 A load.

Enhanced high voltage COT controller

This family of regulators have an enhanced high voltage COT controller co-packaged with a pair of N-Channel FETS with improved avalanche rating.

Output voltage

The output voltage is adjustable down to 0.6V with ±1% accuracy. The Hyper Speed Control® proprietary architecture allows for ultra-fast transient response while reducing the output capacitance.

Programmable switching frequency

These devices feature programmable switching frequency from 270 kHz to 800 kHz.

Operating mode

The operating mode under light load conditions can be selected between HyperLight Load® (HLL) mode and Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) in MIC24067.

HLL mode vs CCM mode

HLL mode results in higher efficiency than that of the CCM mode under light load conditions while the CCM mode keeps the switching frequency almost constant over the entire load current range.
