Infineon LITIX™ Power TLD6098-2ES DC-DC Controller

Cost-effective lighting solutions for automotive design

The Infineon LITIX™ Power TLD6098-2ES is an automotive qualified dual-channel, multi-topology DC-DC boost controller. This device is designed specifically with LED applications in mind and implements a compact LED driver with built-in protection features.

The TLD6098-2ES supports a wide range of fixed current and fixed voltage output step-up/step-down configurations such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC, and Flyback topologies through its two autonomous channels. In addition, the embedded spread spectrum modulator improves EMI performances.

LED brightness is lowered with the integrated pulse width modulators, providing a reduced color shift for both channels. Output LED current is controlled through dedicated pins and each channel is constantly monitoring load status: LED overcurrent, overvoltage, overtemperature, and short to ground events are directly marked on a dedicated pin.

For robustness, versatility, and cost-effectiveness, this design is an ideal choice for the automotive industry, from automobiles to 2-wheelers, and CAV applications in low to mid-end cars.
