E-Switch

E-Switch's Large Selection of Anti-Vandal Switches

Designed to protect against harsh applications and withstand extreme temperatures

E-Switch offers an extensive range of vandal-resistant switches that can be ordered prewired as a stock item. The optional prewired feature is available for the PV series and ULV series anti-vandal products. In addition to the direct wired option, the PV series switch line offers a socket extension to quickly and easily connect power behind the equipment panel. Both options eliminate second sourcing of wire lead purchase and assembly and reduces in-house assembly labor, which saves time and money.

The anti-vandal line ranges in sizes, from a 6mm diameter illuminated indicator to a 40mm panel cutout pushbutton. Multiple options are available in function, body and actuator finishes. Multiple lens styles and LED color options are also available, as well as illumination voltage or non-illuminated options. Many of the anti-vandal switches are rated IP65 or IP67 for dust and moisture protection. Not only is E-Switch’s anti-vandal product line highly robust and functional, it is also quite attractive. Body finishes and solid style actuator, whether non-illuminated or illuminated, make for a highly aesthetic switch so aesthetically pleasing that it is often used in applications that do not require anti-vandal properties. Applications include dashboard controls on motor boats, ATVs and tractor lawn mowers, as well as appliances, HMI and audio/visual control panels.

PMV6

PMV6 Series

The PMV6 Series anti-vandal pushbutton switches come with your choice of multiple function options and cap colors. This IP67 rated switch offers a 10,000 cycle electrical life, an operating temperature range of -20°C to 65°C, and a 1.5mm travel.

PV10

PV10 Series

The PV10 Series is a 40mm anti-vandal switch with a flat actuator, solder lug termination, and multiple switch functions. Available as non-illuminated or the option of ring or center dot illumination, the PV10 Series offers multiple LED color options, including several bi-color choices and illumination voltage options.

PV4

PV4 Series

The PV4 Series illuminated anti-vandal switches are dust and water resistant to an IP65 rating. Featuring multiple actuator options, these switches have a long life expectancy of a million mechanical cycles. They offer multiple illumination colors, including bi-color LED and RGB LED options. Both dot and ring illumination are available, including a graphics option of power symbol etching or illuminated (with ring illumination).

PV6 Series

PV6 Series

The PV6 Series sealed, long life anti-vandal switches are illuminated with multiple color options available. The RGB multicolor LED indicator light feature combines red, green, and blue to produce over 16 million hues of light, making the color options nearly unlimited. They are available with either dot or ring illumination.

PV7 Series

PV7 Series

The PV7 Series sealed, anti-vandal switches feature a long life expectancy and are water resistant. LED illumination colors include red, yellow, orange, blue, green, white, bi-colors, and RGB LED options for an almost unlimited choice of illumination colors.

PV8 Series

PV8 Series

The PV8 Series anti-vandal switches feature a long life expectancy and are water resistant. LED illumination colors include red, yellow, orange, blue, green, and white. Dot or ring illumination options are available.

PVA6 Series

PVA6 Series

The PVA6 Series illuminated anti-vandal switch offers a long life expectancy, dust and water resistance to an IP67 rating, and ring or power symbol illumination. This tamperproof pushbutton switch has a 16mm panel cutout size.

PVT4 Series

PVT4 Series

The PVT4 Series anti-vandal switch is a single-pole, momentary (off-on) pushbutton style switch with crisp tactile response. This switch includes the option to have a wire lead attached to the switch for quick installation or to terminate the standard solder lug terminals yourself.

PZ Series

PZ Series

The PZ Series is an anti-vandal, illuminated piezo switch with momentary pulse function and 50 million cycles of electrical life. This piezo switch is available in two sizes: PZ4 (19mm diameter panel cutout) and PZ7 (22mm diameter panel cutout). Both require 10mm maximum panel thickness.

SV8 Series

SV8 Series

The SV8 Series anti-vandal switch has a 25mm panel cutout, making it the largest of the SV Series. The switch has several customization options, including multiple LED options, Ring or Ring/Power Symbol illumination, and the choice of either wire leads or solder terminals.

ULV7 Series

ULV7 Series

The ULV7 Series anti-vandal switch is UL certified, offering a rating of 3A, 250VAC. It is IP67 rated for protection against dust and moisture and has a long mechanical life expectancy up to a million life cycles (momentary) or 500,000 cycles (latching).

More info: Anti-vandal switches

Anti-vandal switches feature a metal body and actuator, and a wide variety of options, including bi-color illumination, multiple actuator styles, capacity for long life expectancy, and multiple panel cutouts. These features give anti-vandal switches the unique ability to be used in many public related applications such as kiosks, medical equipment and parking ticket dispensers where vandal/tamper resistance is necessary.

Anti-vandal switches are also referred to as vandal-resistant, vandal-proof, tamper-resistant or tamper proof. Demand for a switch designed with durability in mind developed in the early 1980s. ATMs and other equipment with public access to keyboards used standard computer keyboard buttons. This made them easy to vandalize by removing and rearranging the keys, which caused users to enter an incorrect password or number passcode, preventing access to a bank account or the proper function of a ticket kiosk. In some cases, key pads were missing all together, making the keyboard unrecognizable. Thus, for security reasons and to avoid vandalism, keypads were designed with flat surface keys and panels that wouldn’t allow any access in between actuator and switch body, nor will the design provide access under or behind the keys with sharp or metal tools. Today, the anti-vandal switch now offers that same security in an individual switch to prevent vandalism.
