The STM32MP2 series by STMicroelectronics is the second generation of STM32 application processors which opens the door to higher performances with a 64-bit platform. These MPUs are specifically designed for industrial applications requiring chip robustness in a connected and secure environment.
Now supporting the design of richer applications with enhanced performance, the STM32MP2 series features more security and advanced edge AI capabilities. The series is specifically designed to fit the needs of Industry 4.0 applications, including smart factories, cities, and buildings, as well as for advanced HMI applications.
The STM32MP2 supports the growth of connected applications with extended connectivity:
- Ethernet switch
- TSN support
- PCIe
- USB3
- LVDS, DSI, and parallel as display interfaces
- Camera interfaces (CSI, parallel), with image signal processor (ISP)
This STMicroelectronics application processor series offers advanced edge AI capabilities with its NPU accelerator and the flexibility to run AI applications on either the CPU, GPU, or NPU. Additionally, it supports high-end edge computing use cases, such as machine vision, through its multimedia capabilities. This is enabled by the whole STMicroelectronics edge AI ecosystem offer.
The MPU series also supports a wide junction temperature range, from - 40°C to 125°C, making it ideal for industrial and harsh environments.
