More Information on SRAM...

What is Non Volatile SRAM?

Non volatile Non Volatile SRAMs, also known as non volatile SRAM or nvSRAM, is a type of non volatile random access memory, or NV RAM. Non volatile SRAM works the same way as static random access memory (SRAM), MRAM, Magnetic RAM, Magnetic random access memory, FRAM, ferro electric RAM, ferroelectric random access memory. Non volatile static random access memories work better than battery backed static random access memories because nvSRAMs provide much faster access times. Non volatile SRAM is also a very good substitute for EPROMs and EEPROMs due to the faster access times. Also, contrary to battery backed SRAM solutions, there are no ROHS issues associated with NV SRAM memory and no external battery is used. Although NV SRAM memory looks like standard SRAM, it is capable of doing more. SRAM memory can read and write data. Non volatile SRAM, however, can not only read and write, but also store and recall data as well.

Types of Non Volatile SRAMs

There are many different kinds of non volatile SRAMs and at Future Electronics we stock many of the most common types categorized by memory organization, maximum access time, memory density, nominal supply voltage, packaging type and temperature grade. The parametric filters on our website can help refine your search results depending on the required specifications.

The most common sizes for maximum access time are 25 ns and 45 ns. We also carry non volatile SRAMs with maximum access times as low as 3 ns. The nominal supply voltage can range from 2.38 V to 5.5 V, with the most common non volatile SRAM chips having a nominal supply voltage of 5 V.

Non Volatile SRAMs from Future Electronics

Future Electronics has a full selection of non volatile SRAM chips from several manufacturers that can be used to design circuits that require non volatile RAM memories (NV RAM memories), a parallel SRAM memory or any other non volatile SRAM memory devices. Simply choose from the non volatile SRAM technical attributes below and your search results will quickly be narrowed to match your specific non volatile SRAM application needs.

If you have a preferred brand, we deal with several manufacturers such as Everspin Technologies, Cypress, Simtek, Ramtron, Maxim or STMicroelectronics. You can easily refine your non volatile SRAM product search results by clicking your preferred non volatile SRAM brand below from our list of manufacturers.

Applications for Non Volatile SRAMs:

Nonvolatile SRAM is fast replacing battery backed SRAMs in applications that need solutions which do not require a battery and that require long term data retention. They can be found in aerospace, networking and medical applications, among others, especially when it is critical for data to be preserved without having to rely on a battery. Medical equipment and high end servers use non volatile static random access memory in order to store data. NV SRAM has the ability to hold data without external intervention in the case of an external power failure due to an autostore feature, thus providing the flexibility of EEPROM memory at SRAM speeds.

Choosing the Right Non Volatile SRAM:

When you are looking for the right non volatile SRAMs, with the FutureElectronics.com parametric search, you can filter the results by various attributes: by Memory Organization (128 K x 8, 32 K x 8, 8 K x 8, NVRAM, SRAM,…), Maximum Access Time (3 ns, 25 ns, 45 ns,…) and Temperature Grade (Commercial, Extended, Industrial, Military) to name a few. You will be able to find the right chip from several manufacturers that can be used to design a parallel SRAM memory, circuits which require non volatile ram memories (NV RAM memories), or any other devices that could use non volatile SRAM memory.

Non Volatile SRAMs in Production Ready Packaging or R&D Quantities

If the quantity of non volatile SRAMs required is less than a full reel, we offer customers many of our programmable non volatile SRAM products in tube, tray or individual quantities that will avoid unneeded surplus.

In addition, Future Electronics offers clients a unique bonded inventory program that is designed to eliminate potential problems that may arise from an unpredictable supply of products containing raw metals and products with erratic or long lead times.
