More Information on Solid State Relays(SSR)...
What is a Solid State Relay?
An SSR, or solid state relay, is an electronic switch that contains no moving parts and that has the same use as an electromechanical relay. In an SSR a small control signal controls a larger load current or voltage. Solid state relays consist of:
- A sensor which responds to a control signal
- A solid state electronic switching device
- A coupling mechanism
The switching device is used in order to switch power to the load circuitry. The coupling mechanism enables the control signal to activate the switch without any moving parts.
Types of Solid State Relays
Future Electronics offers more than 1,000 Solid State Relays, one of the most comprehensive inventory ranges of SSRs in the industry. Our parametric filters refine your search results by Contact Current, Contact Arrangement, Output Voltage, Control Voltage, On-State Resistance and Isolation Voltage. We have a full selection of Single and Dual Channel solid state relays in SPST, SPDT, DPST and DPDT combinations, with current ratings all the way from 1.1 mA to 500 A. The most common sizes for Maximum Isolation Voltage are 1500 V, 2500 V, 3750 V, 4000 V and 5000 V. The parametric filters on our website can help refine your search results depending on the required specifications.
Solid State Relays from Future Electronics
Our Solid State Relay (SSR) product portfolio is divided into Package Styles for your convenience, so you can filter by DIP, MDIP, PDIP, SIP, SOIC, SON & SOP solutions. Future Electronics has a complete selection of solid state relays from several manufacturers that can be used as a surface mount SSR, photomos solidstate relay or relays in SPDT, DPST, DPDT or SPST combinations. Simply choose from the solid state relay technical attributes below and your search results will quickly be narrowed in order to match your specific solid state relay application needs.
If you have a brand preference (e.g. Clare ( Ixys IC now a division of Littelfuse)or Panasonic Electric Works / PEWA, Opto 22, etc.) you can easily refine your search results by clicking on your chosen SSR brand below.
Applications for Solid State Relays:
Solid state relays are ideal for repetitive applications due to the absence of moving parts. Some applications for solid state relays are:
- Medical
- HVAC
- Professional food equipment
- Theatrical lighting
- Industrial machinery
- Control panels
- Elevators and lifts
- I/O interfaces
Choosing the Right Solid State Relay:
When you are looking for the right solid state relays, you can filter the results by various attributes with the FutureElectronics.com parametric search: by Maximum Contact Current (1.1 mA to 500 A), Maximum Isolation Voltage (200 V, 1500 V, 2500 V, 3750 V, 4000 V, 5000 V,…) and Output Voltage (up to 800 V) to name a few. The parametric filters on our website can help refine your search results depending on the required specifications.
Solid State Relays in Production Ready Packaging or R&D Quantities
If the quantity you want is significantly less than a full reel quantity, we offer many of our Solid State Relay products on special mini-reels, giving you the convenience of being production ready, without any unneeded surplus.
In addition, we offer a unique bonded inventory program that eliminates potential problems arising from volatile market conditions like an unpredictable supply of products containing raw metals and parts with erratic or long lead times.
