Multilayer ceramic capacitors are ultra-small and low profile, using a multilayered structure which internally alternates ceramic and electrode layers. TAIYO YUDEN uses its strengths in material development for commercialization and similarly invests its technical capabilities into printing and lamination technologies, while continuing to develop high-quality and high reliability multilayer ceramic capacitors.

MLCCs are essential electronic components for mobile devices, home electric appliances, and automobiles. A single smartphone contains more than 1,000 micro-sized MLCCs. Performance enhancement of semiconductors has been evolving smartphones, which has led to growing requirements for MLCCs.

High-reliability and a reduced size can be achieved by utilizing multilayer ceramic capacitors with a lower ESR and ESL than electrolytic capacitors in power supply circuits.

Series we are focusing on:

The MSAS Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) from TAIYO YUDEN offer a capacitance range from 680pF to 4.7µF with ±10%/±20% tolerance and X5R, X7R, or standard dielectric. These devices come in 0201 and 1005 case sizes with a high dielectric for the MSAS series and low distortion, audible, and good bias for the MSAY variants. Typical applications for these capacitors include PCs, telecom, power supplies, and industrial electronics.
