Kingston eMMC™ Flash Memory
What is an eMMC?
- eMMC (EMBEDDED MULTIMEDIA CARD) is a type of non-volatile memory storage device, which combines NAND FLASH die with a Flash memory controller, encapsulated in a JEDEC-standard BGA package type.
- The embedded controller and the firmware handle the error correction, bad block management, wear leveling and garbage collection functions internally, freeing up the host processor from these tasks.
- The small BGA package size (which conforms to the JEDEC standard) and the low power consumption make Kingston eMMC a viable cost effective storage solution for a wide range of embedded, mobile and IoT applications.
