Half-bridge transformer driver ideal for isolated LLC converters in automotive applications

The new MPQ18913 is a high-frequency half-bridge transformer driver from Monolithic Power Systems which is suitable for automotive applications.

 

AEC-Q100 Grade 1-certified, the MPQ18913 operates as the primary-side switcher in isolated power supplies. Featuring two integrated MOSFETs, the device can support up to 300 mA of average input current across an input-voltage range of 5 V to 30 V.

 

The MPQ18913 has a wide adjustable switching-frequency range up to 5 MHz, which is particularly useful in resonant power topologies such as LLC converters.

 

A full suite of protection features includes input over-voltage protection, over-current protection, and fault indication. The MPQ18913 also features built-in soft-start to control inrush current during start-up.

 

The MPQ18913 is available in a QFN-10 package with a footprint of 2 mm x 2.5 mm.
