Littelfuse — ITV4030 Battery Protectors

Littelfuse ITV4030 Battery Protectors

New 22 A battery protectors safeguard up to five cells in series

Littlefuse has extended its ITV4030 range of three-terminal, surface-mount lithium-ion battery protectors with new devices which have a higher 22 A current rating.

The ITV4030 range already included battery protectors for 12 A and 15 A systems. The devices are suitable for single-cell batteries, and multi-cell batteries consisting of up to five cells in series. Offering a fast response time, the ITV4030 products protect battery packs against damage caused by over-current or over-charging.

An embedded three-terminal fuse in the device cuts off the circuit in the event of an over-current event. A heater element, directly embedded under the fuse element, generates enough heat to blow the fuse when over-charging is detected by a FET or other IC.

The ITV4030 battery protectors have a footprint of 4 mm x 3 mm. They are UL and TUV certified, easing manufacturer compliance and approval processes.
