Infineon PSoC 64 Pioneer Kit

Secure, connected development kit provides platform for IoT system design

The PSoC™ 64 Standard Secure – AWS Wi-Fi BT Pioneer Kit from Infineon is a low-cost hardware platform which enables developers to design and debug IoT applications using a secure PSoC 64 microcontroller connected wirelessly to the cloud via Amazon’s AWS IoT Core and associated web services.

The Pioneer Kit combines a PSoC 64 MCU with a Murata Type 1DX wireless module. The Murata module is based on an Infineon CYW4343W combination Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® wireless system-on-chip. The PSoC 64 Standard Secure MCU is tightly integrated with AWS IoT Core, providing easy, quick and secure onboarding of IoT devices to the AWS cloud computing service.

The kit also provides options for designing attractive and high-performance user interfaces. In particular, the kit features various capacitive sensing interfaces including two buttons and a five-segment slider. Using the fourth-generation CAPSENSE™ technology provided in the PSoC™ 64 line, the kit implements both self- and mutual-capacitive sensing systems.

Application development on the PSoC™ 64 Pioneer Kit is supported by the Infineon ModusToolbox™ software. This is a collection of easy-to-use tools which enable rapid development of applications, from embedded sensing and control to wireless connectivity and cloud-connected systems. ModusToolbox software is compatible with PSoC MCUs and other Infineon products including the AIROC™ Wi-Fi, AIROC Bluetooth and AIROC combination wireless devices.

The PSoC 6 family is based on a dual-core Arm® Cortex®-M4 and Cortex-M0+ architecture which lets designers optimize for power and performance simultaneously. The dual cores, together with configurable memory and peripheral protection units, enable the PSoC 6 MCUs to provide the highest level of protection defined by the platform security architecture (PSA) from Arm.

Infineon delivers multiple PSoC 6 MCU family lines including the PSoC 64 Secure MCU line. PSoC 64 MCUs combine all the key features of the PSoC 6 family with preconfigured software to support secure onboarding, secure boot, secure firmware updates and Trusted FW-M security services.
