Vishay — 170 RVZ Series Miniature Aluminum Capacitors

Vishay has released a series of low-impedance, automotive-grade miniature aluminum electrolytic capacitors which offers high ripple current capability and a very long useful life of 10,000 hours at 105°C.

The 170 RVZ series devices are polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a non-solid electrolyte. The capacitors offer lower impedance and up to 15% higher ripple current than earlier generations. Ideal for smoothing, filtering, and buffering functions in switch-mode power supplies and dc-dc converters, the 170 RVZ capacitors enable designers to implement systems with fewer components, increasing design flexibility and saving board space.

The 170 RVZ devices, which are available in case sizes ranging from 10 mm x 12 mm up to 18 mm x 40 mm, have ripple-current ratings up to 3.8 A. Maximum operating temperature is 105°C. The cylindrical aluminum case, insulated with a blue sleeve, has radial leads.
