FTM / Power & Power Management / STMicroelectronics — LD49100 LDO
The automotive-grade LD49100 low dropout regulator from STMicroelectronics, which provides a maximum output current of 1 A, operates from an input-voltage range of 1.5 V to 5.5 V with a dropout voltage of 200 mV.
This very low dropout voltage, combined with low quiescent current and low noise, make the LD49100 suitable for use in a wide range of automotive applications in the cabin and in body electronics systems. Power-supply rejection is 70 dB at low frequency and starts to reduce at 10 kHz. In shut-down mode, the LDO draws a current of just 1 μA.
The device features a precise Power Good indicator, which is useful for monitoring the power system and implementing power sequencing. An internal 1 ms soft-start circuit allows for the reduction of inrush current.
Fixed output-voltage options range from 0.8 V to 4.5 V in 100 mV steps. The LD49100 can also provide an adjustable output.
The LD49100 is available in an AEC-Q100 grade 1 qualified version, and is supplied in a small 6-pin DFN package measuring 3 mm x 3 mm. The device is stable with ceramic capacitors on the input and output.
