FTM / Power & Power Management / Microchip — MIC21LV32 Buck Controller
The MIC21LV32 from Microchip is a constant on-time, dual-phase synchronous buck controller which supports applications requiring up to 50 A of output current over a wide output-voltage range.
Featuring a unique adaptive on-time control architecture, the MIC21LV32 operates over an input-voltage range of 4.5 V to 36 V. The adjustable output-voltage range of 0.6 V to 28 V is regulated with a guaranteed accuracy of ±1% over the entire junction-temperature range, or to an even tighter range of ±0.5% at up to 105°C.
The device offers a full suite of protection features, including under-voltage lock-out to ensure proper operation under power-sag conditions, hiccup-mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shut-down.
The switching frequency of the MIC21LV32 is programmable between 100 kHz and 1 MHz per phase. Microchip’s Hyper Speed Control® architecture supports ultra-fast response to transient voltages under medium to heavy loads.
The MIC21LV32 is supplied in a 32-pin 5 mm x 5 mm VQFN package.
