FTM / Motor Control / Diodes Incorporated — DGD0579U Gate Driver
The DGD0579U from Diodes Incorporated is a compact, high-frequency, high- and low-side gate driver with a built-in bootstrap diode. Measuring just 3 mm x 3 mm x 0.75 mm, the device can drive two N-channel MOSFETs in the half-bridge configurations which are commonly used for motor control and dc-dc power conversion.
The floating high-side driver is rated at up to 100 V in a bootstrap configuration. Short propagation delays of 60 ns and delay matching within 10 ns enable high switching speeds and reduced dead-time, enabling manufacturers to realize small, efficient power-system designs.
Integrated MOSFET protection mechanisms include cross-conduction prevention logic, so that the high- and low-side MOSFETs are not on at the same time, and under-voltage lockout to protect the MOSFETs in the event of a failure of the power supply. These integrated features improve reliability, and further reduce the space requirements and component count compared to discrete solutions.
The DGD0579U supports logic inputs via its HIN, LIN, and EN pins. The device is compatible with the standard TTL and CMOS voltage levels down to 3.3 V.
