Sensirion SEK-SCD41 Evaluation Kit

Featuring miniature CO2 sensor for indoor air-quality monitoring

The new SEK-SCD41 kit from Sensirion provides an easy way to evaluate the SCD4x carbon dioxide (CO2) sensors.

The SCD4x sensors are intended for use in indoor air-quality applications such as smart ventilation systems and air purifiers, which are gaining adoption worldwide as consumers and building operators become more aware of the importance and value of good indoor air quality.

High levels of CO2 in indoor air can impair humans’ cognitive performance and well-being. CO2 produced by the human metabolism can accumulate rapidly in indoor air: well insulated buildings which comply with the latest energy standards permit little fresh air to flow through indoor spaces.

Measurement of indoor CO2 concentrations enables smart ventilation systems to regulate air-flow in the most energy-efficient way and maintain a comfortable, healthy, and productive environment for occupants.

Providing accurate measurement of CO2 concentrations, the SCD4x is a miniature CO2 sensor series which offers an excellent price-to-performance ratio. The sensor is built on the photoacoustic sensing principle, and benefits from the patented Sensirion PASens® and CMOSens® technologies. The surface-mount package measures 10.1mm x 10.1mm x 6.5mm.

The sensor integrates a best-in-class relative humidity and temperature sensor: this enables superior on-chip signal compensation, as well as providing humidity and temperature outputs to the application.
