Low-power eMMC memory solutions offer a simple interface to host applications

The embedded multimedia card (eMMC) Flash memory from Kingston is available in capacities from 4 Gbytes to 256 Gbytes and in commercial, industrial, and automotive temperature grades.

Kingston supplies a family of embedded multimedia card (eMMC) Flash memory devices, providing a high-capacity data storage option that is easy to integrate into the host application.

 

The Kingston® portfolio includes an I-Temp eMMC™ Flash memory range for industrial and other applications that require tolerance of operating temperatures up to 85°C.

 

Kingston has also recently added Automotive-Temp eMMC products to its portfolio, providing support for an extended operating-temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. The Automotive-Temp eMMC range offers JEDEC eMMC 5.1 features, and is backward-compatible with earlier eMMC standards. It is ideal for use in applications operating in harsh environments, including outdoor signage, surveillance equipment, factory automation, transportation, servers, and touchscreen kiosks.

 

The Kingston eMMC non-volatile memory products consist of NAND Flash memory and a Flash memory controller. The controller implements error correction, wear leveling, performance optimization and read sensing, freeing the host processor of the need to perform low-level Flash memory management.

 

Kingston also handles, invisibly, the migration from one generation of NAND Flash technology to another, so that device OEMs only have to implement the interface design and qualification process for any part number once. This results in a shorter time to market, and enables OEMs to benefit from the cost, capacity and performance improvements made by NAND Flash manufacturers over time.

 

Kingston eMMC products are suitable for a wide range of applications thanks to the low power consumption and compliance with standard JEDEC specifications. For space-constrained applications, Kingston offers the world’s smallest eMMC package with a standard JEDEC footprint.
