FTM / Industrial Automation and Industry 4.0 / Renesas — SLG47910V FPGA
Renesas has launched a product which is set to radically change the market for low-density FPGAs. By combining a robust and valuable feature set with low power consumption, low price, and free, easy-to-use development software, the new SLG47910V ForgeFPGA device opens the door to low-density FPGA development to all embedded system designers.
The SLG47910V is unusually small for an FPGA – it is supplied in a 24-pin QFN package with a 3.0 mm x 3.0 mm footprint – and consumes surprisingly little power, making it suitable for use in wearable devices and other space- and power-constrained designs.
The SLG47910V contains a dense array of configurable logic elements:
The FPGA’s configuration is created by programming a one-time programmable memory to arrange the interconnect logic, the I/O pins, and the macrocells. This allows this small, low-power device to perform a wide variety of FPGA functions, including:
Part supported: SLG47910V ForgeFPGA
Kit part number: SLG7EVBFORGE
The SLG7EVBFORGE ForgeFPGA evaluation board from Renesas is a compact, easy-to-use, hardware tool for working with the SLG47910V FPGA. The board supports design emulation, programming, and real-time testing. It is controlled by the Renesas Go Configure™ Software Hub with options for emulation, power regulation, IC programming, and internal UART terminals.
