STMicroelectronics — LDLN050 LDO

STMicroelectronics LDLN050 LDO

500 mA LDO with low output-voltage noise is ideal regulator for sensitive circuits

STMicroelectronics has introduced the LDLN050, a 500 mA low dropout (LDO) regulator which may be used to supply noise-sensitive circuits such as sensors, microcontrollers or wireless transceivers in industrial applications. Low quiescent current of 48 µA means that the LDLN050 is also suitable for battery-powered applications.

The LDLN050 is available with an adjustable output which can be set to any value between 1.25 V and 6 V. Fixed voltage versions are available on request with an output voltage from 1.0 V to 4.3 V in 0.1 V steps. On these fixed-voltage versions, an external capacitor can be connected to the CNR pin to reduce noise on the regulated output voltage.

The LDLN050 has a very low-resistance pass element which operates very fast during turn-on, and a high power-supply rejection ratio of 65 dB at 100 Hz. The LDO includes current limit and thermal protection functions.

The DFN8 package measures 3 mm x 3 mm.
