Bridge board provides tuning environment for all Microchip touch-sensing products

Microchip

The Microchip Touch Bridge is supported by a portfolio of Microchip development software tools

The Microchip Touch Bridge (MTB) is a universal bridge for all Microchip touch-sensing solutions, including both turnkey products and touch library-based applications running on a microcontroller. A touch bridge is used during the development process to read out raw data and adjust settings to optimize operation in the application.

The MTB board, which has the orderable part number EV96R35A, is supported by the Microchip MPLAB Data Visualizer data visualization and real-time tuning tool. Application development is aided by use of the Code Configurator MCC tool for 8- and 16-bit MCUs, and the Harmony 3 tool for 32-bit MCUs.

The MTB can be used to tune:

  • Touch library-based solutions running on a Microchip 8-bit, 16-bit, or 32-bit MCU
  • Turnkey touch-sensing products in the MTCH, CAP, and AT42QT series
  • Wired USB or wireless Bluetooth®-connected applications

MTB firmware is provided through the MPLAB Discover portal.

Features

  • Supply-voltage range: 1.8 V to 5 V
  • Compatible with the MCP2221A breakout board

Applications

  • Wired touch tuning
  • Wireless touch tuning
  • Bi-directional tuning
