FTM / Connectivity / TE Connectivity — Ceramic Antennas for Multi-Band GNSS
The portfolio of standard ceramic antennas for multi-band global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) from TE Connectivity supports the reliable and precise tracking performance required by demanding applications in smart transportation and smart agriculture.
The TE Connectivity antennas are compatible with the GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo constellations of positioning satellites, giving global access to multiple satellites and frequency bands with a single antenna. Ceramic chip antennas are smaller than PCB trace antennas, enabling system designers to achieve substantial space savings when implementing a multi-band GNSS tracking system.
Stacked ceramic patch, or active, antennas can receive multiple bands, giving improved coverage of received satellites in challenging environments. By using a stacked patch design, OEMs can realize designs which have a smaller footprint than systems containing multiple discrete antennas.
The high signal quality received by TE ceramic antennas also enables navigation and tracking systems to achieve superior accuracy: positioning error measured in decimeters or even centimeters is possible.
