Ohmite MCS Series Resistors

Current-sense resistors offer stable performance over the temperature range

Ohmite supplies the MCS range of metal-element current-sense resistors for use in power-conversion and battery-charging applications.

The surface-mount MCS series products offer precise and stable resistance values. The tolerance of resistance is ±1%, ±3%, or ±5%, and the temperature coefficient of resistance is ±10 ppm/°K.

The resistors are supplied in three case sizes:

  • MCS1320 parts have a footprint of 1.35 mm x 2.10 mm. Power rating at 70 °C is 0.75 W.
  • MCS1632 parts have a footprint of 1.70 mm x 3.30 mm. Power rating at 70 °C is 1 W.
  • MCS3264 parts have a footprint of 3.20 mm x 6.40 mm. Power rating at 70 °C is 2 W.

The products are available in a choice of six resistance values ranging from 5 mΩ to 50 mΩ. All parts feature a 96% alumina substrate which provides a heat-dissipating protective layer.
