Modular connectors give multiple system design options

Same Sky – CUI Devices has introduced a range of modular connectors which provide flexible options for manufacturers of telecoms and networking equipment.

The new CRJ series of modular connectors are available in RJ10, RJ11, RJ12, RJ13, and RJ45 types, and offer a variety of position and contact options:

Four positions/four contacts, or 4P4C
Six positions/two contacts, or 6P2C
Six positions/four contacts, or 6P4C
Six positions/six contacts, or 6P6C
Eight positions/eight contacts, or 8P8C
Eight positions/10 contacts, or 8P10C

The modular connectors also offer single-port, 1 x 2, 2 x 4, 2 x 6, and 2 x 8 port options. They are supplied in vertical and horizontal orientations, and in surface-mount, panel-mount, and through-hole mounting styles.

Some RJ45 connectors also include integrated magnetics for improved EMI shielding and a simpler system design. The connectors support the 10/100 or 10/100/1000 BaseT speed ratings. Several of the RJ45 magnetic jack models also comply with the IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard providing up to 15.4 W power per port.
