FTM / Connectivity / ams OSRAM — CMV2000 and CMV4000 Evaluation System
ams OSRAM has introduced an application-ready evaluation system which enables designers to compare the operation of the high-performance CMV2000 and CMV4000 global-shutter CMOS image sensors in machine vision applications.
The evaluation system provides a host platform and interchangeable cameras featuring the 2 Mpixel CMV2000 and the 4 Mpixel CMV4000 image sensors, supported by a standard AIA USB 3.0 vision interface. A single hardware set-up can be used to evaluate the CMV2000 and CMV4000 in either color or monochrome variants. The designer can choose between 10-bit and 12-bit modes, and evaluate the best option for each application.
The evaluation system is ready to use out-of-the-box, and is backed by a GenTL viewer. The system’s camera features a Nikon F-mount lens.
The CMV2000 and CMV4000 image sensors are pin-compatible. Both sensors offer selectable ADC resolution, and provide a high dynamic-range mode with dual-exposure and piecewise linear-response options.
The CMV2000 operates at a maximum frame rate of 340 frames/s, and the CMV4000 at up to 180 frames/s.
