Maxlinear GSW140
1G Switch, 6 port, 4 PHYs, RGMII & SGMII+
The GSW140 is a highly integrated, low-power, non-blocking six-port Gigabit Ethernet QoS Switch with four Ethernet PHY, one 1G/2.5G SGMII+ and one management port. The GSW140 complies with 10BASE-TE, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T standards. Support of Energy-Efficient Ethernet 802.3az reduces power consumption further in idle state. Smart LED brightness control logic is integrated for additional power saving. LED brightness can be adjusted either by an external push button or varies dynamically depending on the intensity of the light with an external light sensor.
The GSW140 devices are configurable via pin-strapping, by means of the MDIO interface, UART interface, SPI interface or optionally by connecting an external EEPROM. Integrated QoS technology prioritizes switch traffic for different classes of applications e.g. VoIP, video, audio and data based on port ID, 802.1p, IP DSCP/ToS and multiple fields of the packet. IEEE 1588v2 support enables highly accurate precision timing protocol applications. The 1 M Bits embedded packet storage SRAM is integrated with 9 KB jumbo frame support.
The GSW140 features 4K entry VLAN table for 802.1Q VLAN operation and double VLAN tagging (Q-in-Q) translation. The GSW140 supports
IGMPv1/v2/v3 and MLD v1/v2 snooping for efficient use of network bandwidth.
Maxlinear GPY211
2.5G Ethernet PHY, SGMII
GPY211 is a single-port 2.5Gbit/s Ethernet PHY with PTP (IEEE1588v2) support.
The device supports the 2.5GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-Te modes of the IEEE802.3 standard and provides great interoperability for high data rate connections as well as for connections with legacy 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T devices.
GPY211 is connected to the MAC of an SoC or switch with a low pin-count SGMII+/SGMII interface. The SGMII+/SGMII interface supports 10M, 100M, 1G and 2.5Gbit/s rates or IEEE802.3x rate adaptation using pause frames.
GPY211 supports Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) in the 2.5GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T and 100BASE-TX modes to reduce power consumption during periods of low traffic. Additional power saving can be achieved by using the Wake-on-LAN (WoL) functionality and the ultra-low power mode.
GPY211 supports the Precision Time Protocol (PTP, 1588v2).
The device is packaged in a small 7 x 7mm single-row VQFN-56 package, ideal for 2 or 4-layer PCBs. A low EMI line driver with integrated termination simplifies the PCB design. GPY211 can be operated from a single 3.3V power supply using the integrated DC/DC switching regulator. It is configurable through pin strapping, MDIO interface, or an optional external flash memory.
GPY211 is pin compatible with MaxLinear’s GPY212, GPY215 and GPY115 Ethernet PHYs.
