Precise cloud connected distance detection

Carpark occupancy demo is presenting an application where precise distance detection results are sent to a cloud base application server.  

Future Electronics’ Center of Excellence uses Acconeer A111 60 GHz Pulsed Coherent Radar (PCR) as a distance sensor. This sensor can measure distances from 60mm up to 7000mm and can detect multiple objects. Acconeer development board with sensor module XM132 is connected to ST Microelectronics STM32WL evaluation board to provide LoRa WAN connectivity. In addition, location data is collected and sent together with distance measurement over LoRa WAN to Application Server. 

Key components: 

Acconeer XM132 – entry module with A111 60GHz Pulsed Coherent Radar. It comes with STM32G071CBU6 MCU. I2C and UART are default interfaces to communicate with the module.  

STM32WL55JCI7U – STM Microcontroller with dual core Arm® Cortex® M0+/M4. Ultra low power MCU with integrated RF transceiver (150 MHz to 960 MHz frequency range) supporting LoRa®, (G)FSK, (G)MSK, and BPSK modulations. 

Teseo-LIV3F – STM Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) standalone module 

MultiTech Conduit® AP – Access Point for LoRa® Technology (MTCAP Series).
