Biometric smart lock

Theia is continuation of existing ams reference project – Athena. It demonstrates the use of the Belago1.1 dot projector, flood illuminator and the MIRA130 NIR Sensor in indoor/outdoor biometric lock application. In cooperation of ams OSRAM and Future Electronics CoE, Cyclops1-0 3D sensor board has been connected to iWave SBC with NXP i.MX8M mini MPI (ARM). It releases 3D face authentication to many different consumer applications (eLock, Smart Access, home automation, etc.)

Theia reference design authenticates users in distance between 0.5m to 1.35m in front of the camera module (Cyclops1-0 3D sensor), in time <380ms.

Key parts on AMS Cyclops1-0 3D sensor board:

MIRA130 – 1.3MP GS CMOS image sensor with NIR-enhanced performance

Belago-1.1 – Dot-Pattern Infrared Illuminator for 3D Stereoscopic Imaging & Structured Light

PMSILplus – Flood Illuminator

AS3648 – 2000mA High Current LED Flash Driver

iWave SBC:

i.MX 8M Mini Quad: 4 x Cortex-A53, 1 x Cortex-M4, GPU & VPU

64-bit ARMv8 Architecture
